"Protest Playlist" is a listening party sing-a-long, and food for the soul public event created by "Call for Beauty" artist Cheryl Patrice Derricotte. In this happy hour event, members of the public are invited to come see the "Call for Beauty" exhibition in Root Division's gallery while listening to "Protest Playlist," a curated soundtrack of protest songs across genres.

Explore

Cheryl Patrice Derricotte has an extensive background in the arts and community development. Originally from Washington, DC, she moved to Oakland, CA in 2011.  She lives in the KONO neighborhood and her art practice is located at American Steel Studios in West Oakland. Cheryl received the Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in May 2015 and was recently named one of two inaugural Emerging Artists at the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco.
